Vehicles in German Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police reported they were contacted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Around 50 vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered many other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials say initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; investigators are presently not aware of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were working "to unravel the case" and have requested to the residents for details.

An important political figure commented the incident made him stunned and had to be solved quickly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist attack five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on individuals of migrant background in 2020.
